Beauty on the Bricks

Beauty on the Bricks: A beginning.

What is Beauty on the Bricks MedSpa? Why is it different? Why start a business in Alliance? Does anyone even use these services, anyway?

A short career history.
I am a nurse practitioner by trade. I have extensive experience. I have climbed the “nursing ladder” by starting as a nurses aid, then medication aid (an additional certificate in order to administer medications to patients), on to LPN next, then RN, and finally APRN.

I have worked in Long-Term Care, Med-Surg, Postop Orthopedics, ICU, ER, Primary Care, Inpatient Medicine. My all-time favorite, and my current home is in Emergency Medicine.

MedSpa.
What is it? A MedSpa is similar to a Spa, in that, it is somewhere to go to treat yourself. A MedSpa is different, in that, it offers non-surgical medical injectables and treatments. It is geared toward aesthetics, to maintain the natural beauty we all have.

Services offered include Botox and Dermal Fillers to prevent or reduce appearance of wrinkles. Also, Chemical Peels and Microneedling to treat wrinkles, skin pigmentation or tone, acne pitting, and stimulate collagen and elastin.

I have added IV fluid hydration and intramuscular (IM) injections, because these were frequently requested. As a surprise to me, these services have kept me very busy and have been very popular!

Why Alliance? Does anyone use these services, anyway?

Believe it or not, many people use these services. I do too. Because of where we are located, it is often a 1-3 hour drive to a larger town or city to get treated.

Why couldn’t I just offer them here, locally? There is a need and a demand for it. There used to be a stigma surrounding using Botox or Fillers, it was portrayed in a very negative light. However, when done correctly and with the utmost care, no one will even know you get treated with Botox or Fillers (unless you tell them)! You can only do so much with creams and face masks.

I started in the summer of 2021, and it has just grown exponentially since then! It has been a challenge, and a HUGE learning curve, but I’m getting the hang of it, and having so much fun!

I started in a single room in the back of the State Farm building on Box Butte. The next year, I added a second location in Hemingford in Lux Salon with Leeann Bruns, APRN. And now…I am pleased to announce that I have purchased a building at 311 Box Butte, and have been renovating it! It will be beautiful when it is done and I can’t wait to blog the process so you all can see!

Follow this blog and I will post pictures and relay all the trials and tribulations of restoring natural beauty, which is what my business does best!
